R U Kidding Me?
Is it just me or is everyone so buried in their cell phones they don't have time to practice simple etiquette anymore? Being the Gadgetista that I am, I am reasonably guilty of it myself. So I'm putting my foot down...I mean putting my phone down...or am I?
I was talking to my friend, Amy the other day, and she was telling me that she took the time to write a Thank you note to someone that had her over for a picnic. That person remarked that she was the only person that bothered to do so. Nobody puts pen to paper anymore. Is it because it is just too easy to text, or send an e-card? Is that even acceptable? How would you feel if you took the time to host a dinner or picnic or something that took a lot of time and effort and receive little or no recognition? What about a gift? Is a text thank you appropriate? In this case, it certainly isn't the thought that counts since very little goes into a text. Don't even get me started on punctuation and textspeak!
