Give the Gift of Media without Leaving the Couch

Posted by Cellular Chloe on Wed, Dec 14, 2011 @ 04:02 PM

Media Gifting makes Christmas Shopping possible from the comfort of your couch, your desk, stoplights...anywhere you have a few minutes to kill. Think about how many people you know with a smartphone or a tablet. Did you know you can gift them music, ebooks, games, apps and movies right from your phone, tablet or PC? Maybe you watch a show that you know your friend would love, gift them the series. Gift them the newest season of Two and a Half Men for around $30. Gift Mom a few e-books. The possibilities are endless.

I might be showing signs of age here but remember when cassette tapes were big and girls made "mix tapes" of sappy songs for their boyfriends? Well, now you can make modern day mix tapes now commonly referred to as playlists and gift them as well. The gifting possibilities are endless.

iTunes

The iTunes Store makes it easy to give songs, albums, playlists, audiobooks, music videos, movies, and TV shows to anyone.

Gift Cards and Gift Certificates

Give iTunes Gift Cards and gift certificates and let them choose for themselves.

An iTunes gift certificate is just the thing for last-minute gifts. Choose from a wide range of denominations. Email your gift certificate immediately, or print the gift certificate on your own printer and deliver it to the lucky recipient in person.

Set up an iTunes allowance

Give your kids a legal way to download their favorite songs with a monthly allowance or gift someone a set amount monthly. Allowance accounts give the recipient a set amount of store credit to spend on the iTunes Store every month. That way they can access the store without a credit card, and you can set a limit on how much they spend. You can modilfy the allowance at any time from your own iTunes account.

Gift specific music and videos

Send a song, an album, a TV episode, an entire TV show, or a movie — even give a custom mix of songs — to anyone. Buy a gift and iTunes immediately sends an email to your recipient, who just clicks a link. Your gift starts downloading to your recipient’s iTunes library, ready to play or sync to iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.

Barnes and Noble

Gift e-books by sending a Barnes & Noble e-gift card right from your phone. They get emailed right away

When the recipient gets their gift card they can redeem it and it will keep the balance in an account for them so they can use it for whatever /when ever they want.

Amazon

Amazon has many options for gifting. If you are on a PC you have 4 gifting options by email, Facebook, Printed or Postal Mail. From your phone using their mobile app you can someone a gift card by email  or you can use your browser and go to the Amazon full site send someone a gift card via the 4 options above.

What’s nice about Amazon is they offer games, ebooks, apps, music and videos so you can satisfy just about anyone with the ability to choose from any of those media types. Their gift cards never expire and you can price it anywhere from $.15 to $2000.00. Like Barnes and Noble, the gift card goes into an account and the recipient can use it as they like.

Kick back on your recliner and gift away! Remember my email is cellularchloe@wirelesszone.com in case you need it for anything...hint hint.

Peace out
