Time Waster Tuesday! Fun Things To Check Out 8.17.10

First, let it be known that I would never suggest you do these things on company time, but the next time you find yourself waiting at the Dentist, or Therapist for many of you! Eating lunch by yourself, while trying to look involved or whenever you need to kill a few minutes, let me guide you in the correct way to accomplish this!

For the first "Time Waster Tuesday Tip" (try saying that 5 times fast-I couldn't do it twice!) I have for you a fun little web mini-series. It's produced by NBC Universal and it's only viewable on the web or on your Verizon device via VCast Videos.

It's called Fact Checkers Unit. It's about two homely guys that work for "Dictum" magazine and their job is to check facts before they are published. The first three episodes are posted. Russell and Dylan are assigned to see if Donald Faison (Scrubs) is afraid to fly, Luke Perry thinks his house is haunted and whether or nor Karolina Kurkova wears 125 SPF sunblock. Of course their ways of checking these facts are somewhat unscrupulous. Future episodes include Dave Navarro, Alex Trebek and Pauky Perrette (NCIS). I didn't LOL but I did watch all three episodes, so they were fun enough to entertain me...while I was uploading a video, well I couldn't do any other "work," my computer was otherwise engaged. I swear! Here's a trailer:

You can also watch this on nbc.com, hulu.com and Syfy.com. If you choose to watch it on VCast Videos, go to the app on your phone, select "entertainment" on the VCast Homescreen>NBC>Extras>Fact Checkers Unit.

Next "Time Waster Tuesday Tip" is of course, some cool, free Droid apps.

Since I really have no life, I lie in bed, set my alarm, get ready to charge my phone and spend a half hour or so looking for new, fun, free apps. When I say new, before you blast me, they are "new" to me.

Here's what I found in the last couple of nights.

Poke a Mole...love it, how can you not? Everyone loves Whack-a-Mole!

Balance Just like the name, you balance a pen on a virtual fingertip. You move the finger left to right to keep the pen in the air. It's harder than it looks!balance

Scanner Buddy Listen to the law or police in your area or listen to the Top 50 feeds, like LAPD or others. If you like an app and it's free, help a developer out and buy the full version.

And last but not least Zilch. It's a dice game you've probably played at some point in your life but had a different name. I've heard it called 10K, 10000, Farkle and sometimes by its French name Dix Mille. You have to keep 1's and 5's, 3 of a kind or 3 pairs. If you keep getting any of those, you keep rolling, if not you get... Zilch. Up to 4 players or you can play against the computer. Nice part-it does all the scoring for you. It even remembers your name! Back in the day, with real dice, we actually had to use our heards! Scary!!

Zilch Farkle

It's a fun, adicting, time wasting, kind of a game...the best kind!

Enjoy! Peace out
