Wake Up! I've got stuff to tell you!
First of all, let start with Samsung.
Today we will be getting the Haven u320. That is replacing the Knack u310. This is a no frills phone that is ideal for older persons as it has large buttons and fonts and ICE contacts and a dedicated 911 button. No bells and whistles or cameras, so not too complicated.
Tomorrow, we will have the Intensity II u460 (pictured above). This obviously replaces the original Intensity. Still no video but it will be Social Beat and City ID capable. It will be available in two flavors, metallic blue and deep grey.
Also coming very soon for Samsung is the Gusto, another no frills device. Here's a look at them, along with the Pantech Jest that is already out, and the Verizon Salute, I'll get to that one later.
I am not allowed to tell you much about Samsung's 4th and 5th devices coming out, but I'll give you a hint they are both smartphones and they have two different OS's. If you follow Samsung you should be able to figure that out.
Okay, let's move on to Motorola. I wasn't supposed to talk about this either but I see it has hit Verizon literature that is in stores so I'm spilling! The Droid 2 is next in their impressive Droid line up. I say impressive because I think the Droid X more than makes up for the one in the line up that didn't do so well (Devour). Hey, they can't all be gems! Anyway, it has the 3G mobile hotspot and 1GHz like the Droid X but it's the same type of form factor as the original Droid but it's be less harsh looking with a much better slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It's Exchange for email is much improved and it's said to be launching with Froyo Android 2.2. The original Droid was very blocky, this one will be a little smoother. Here's how it will stack up to the current Droids..

Directly after the Droid 2, Motorola will have another device on the horizon, can you guess the OS on that?
As I mentioned in Monday's article both Motorola and Samsung will be vying for spots to release LTE devices (smartphones and tablets) next year. What is very exciting about the tablets is that they will most likely be Droid based so imagine the spike in apps we'd see for that!
Lastly, ZTE (not to be confused with LTE) is producing a phone for Verizon that will be released shortly called the Salute F350. It will be a slider design but its specs say it'll have a keypad. So if that's true, it'll be alphanumeric as opposed to a QWERTY slide-out. It'll have a 1.3MP camera, bluetooth, media center support and voice commands and it'll be social beat capable.
So that's it! Whatdaya think? Anything you'd want to upgrade to? If you have questions on any of them, be sure to give me a shout!
Peace out
