I was on my (moto) Droid last night surfing, checking e-mail, etc. And as I was about to shut down & hit the rack w/plans to call & order the X the next day, knowing by "what they say" that there were going to be "more then enough to meet the anticapated demand", I decided to just check vzw to see what's up (11:00 AZ Time) & found it to be there in stock, at the bottom of the list in the Smartphone catagory. So I figured I'd go ahead & place my order.
I could Not believe how low it was, assuming it was due to vzw's server traffic.
The pages were coming to a dead stop.
So I decided to try it on my Laptop or Netbook, which I found to be much faster. And at that rate I was able to order the 2 extra extras I planned on. Also, after finding you can get $50.00 of a 32GB S/D w/ purchase of the X, I decided to get one even though I have a # of cards already (no 32GB's though) but after seeing the cost of it; $149.99 if not mistaken), I said NOT !
Now after getting an e-mail from vzw w/ shipping info, I'm to get it tomorrow (Fri.).
Now the ONLY reason I'm passing this on is, about the speed of their server, or the lack there of, (though by now I'm sure its much better, & much w/ a better connection then mine), but also to "ease" any worry of quick lack of devices as well as the "32GB deal".
Oh, one more thing. I once again have seen the greed of vzw. For an extra (reg.) Battery, you have to pay extra for the door. And for the Multimedia Dock, you have to pay extra for the Data cable to supply power to it.
Not that many will care, but I'm giving my Moto. Droid to my Son for His 19th. Birthday, but I'm somewhat concerned about the gradual increase of the speed it once had. I'm assuming a factory reset might help a bit there. Any confermation and/or advice would greatly be appreciated and I hope the info I've mentioned here can benefit someone, someway, & for those who also are getting the X, let's hope all goes well w/ it & have fun w/ it. *Good day !
