Droid Incredible by HTC releases tomorrow April 29, 2010!

Are you sick of hearing about the Incredible yet? I hope not, because it's only going to get worse! Especially if you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or read this blog. That's how ultimately taken I am by it. So far I have only found one con with it. I'm waiting to see how HTC spins it before I mention it. Anyway, it is a sweet device and I am really looking forward to delving into everything it can do. So far, one of the things I love best about it is really a feature of Android 2.1, not exclusive to the Incredible but it'll probably be faster and better on the HTC, is the audible text input. The ONLY thing I am disappointed about in the Android lineup is that none of them have resistive touchscreens. They are all capacitive so you have to use your fingertip to navigate on the screen. The fact that I no longer have to type blows me away. I have practicing it on the Droid and there have been very few instances that it didn't get exactly what I was saying. I am talking slower and more concise that I did in the beginning and it's nailing almost everything.

All of the Androids in Verizon Wireless' lineup do have some other means of navigating. The Droid has the D Pad inside the slide, the Devour has the touch sensitive navigation pad, the Eris has the Trackball and the Incredible has an optical joystick.

Another great feature is the 8MP lens. As an old school photographer, when 5MP came to an SLR it was an exciting day in the photo industry, now I find a device slimmer than a pack of smokes with an 8MP camera in it. Crazy how things evolve. It also has a dual LED flash, autofocus and geo-tagging.

It's almost worth it to leave your real camera behind! (Speaking from someone who just dropped big $ on an 18MP SLR.) Like I'm ever going to need that high of a resolution. The only way that's going to come in handy is if I'm shooting pix for large scale images or cropping the heck out of the images I make into regular size prints.

Tomorrow I will rip this device apart and we'll talk about every aspect of it. In the meantime, try to be patient, until you get your paws on one!

Here's a video that'll make it want it even more.
